Couples Counseling

Communication  +  Trust  =  Synergy

“For one human being to love another, that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.” – Rilke

Your partner is different than you. Sometimes that’s great. Sometimes it’s miserable.  Is it any wonder that research indicates that relationships are the most power influence on your well-being?

Relationships ev0lve and breakdowns are inevitable.

Re-pair-ing is an art and survival skill. You can learn it.

What love asks from you may be your greatest life’s lesson.

Thinking about Marriage?

Together we explore to find differences that thrill us and overlap that unites you in what may be the most important ceremony of your life together.

  • 5 sessions as a couple
  • Uncover each partner’s vision of marriage and wedding
  • Explore wedding as a ceremony of commitment, and celebration
  • Create vows (if appropriate)
  • Determine events and their sequence
  • Determine if I am to officiate the ceremony

This is not therapy. It isn’t a fix. It’s gorgeous healing.

Before we came in, we had a very good relationship. Yet in our day-to-day life we were tolerating subtle, under-the-surface tensions, which polarized us.  It happened every time I didn’t put the dish in the sink and every time he had to put the dish in the sink.

In working with you, without going head-on into any of that stuff, we had really significant breakthroughs into multiple layers of understanding of each other and insights into those tensions. By the afternoon we were in such a profound state of connection that we were letting go of layers of tension and finding golden veins of deep connection.

We felt such spaciousness and enormous safety—all infused with love.  It was unlike anything we’ve experienced before.

This is not therapy.  It isn’t a fix.  It’s gorgeous healing.

Calm, Confident, Stress-Free Wedding

After engagement we became so bogged down with wedding details that we needed to reconnect with why we were getting married. During the retreat we escaped checklists and anxiety. We visualized the success of our wedding and future life together though a ‘wide angle lens’ that inspired calm confidence. We garnered tools to support our marriage, including “Poise” for the wedding day.

Our wedding weekend was a whirlwind. As family, friends and logistics swirled about us, we both felt amazingly present and stress-free. Others commented on our calm demeanor.

Calm, Grounded, Present on Our Special Day

We had no idea how to design the wedding ceremony. Nor did we understand the officiant’s role. Greg helped us put the pieces together and everything in order. His thought-provoking questions guided us in creating our vows. We learned how to keep calm, grounded and present during our special day.

The ceremony was intimate, unique, and customized to our beliefs. It included a mindfulness exercise! Our guests were attentive and enjoyed the format and content. We had fun and weren’t as nervous as we thought we would be.
